The rescue boat model RB-450 Solas has been specifically designed to answer the requirements of:
• The EC Marine Equipment Directive EC/MED 96/98 and amendments 98/85/EC, 2001/53/EC, 2002/75/EC, 2002/84/EC, 2008/67/EC and 2009/26/EC.
• The International Convention for the Human Life Security at Sea SOLAS 74 and amendments since 2006.
• The International Life Saving Appliance (LSA), resolution MSC 48(66) and amendments.
• The IMO Resolution MSC 81(70) Part 1 and amendments

The regulations mentioned above demand the installation of a rescue boat on a ship of all passenger and cargo - carrying vessels superior to 500 GT and fishing vessels built from 1999 with overall length of more than 24 mtr. As well as the fishing vessels built before 1999 with overall length of more then 46 mtr. belonging to the CE or any other nationality that accepts the SOLAS convention.
The functional objective of the rescue boat resides in its permanent availability for a quick launch that allows the recovery of persons falling overboard, as well as the marshalling of inflatable life rafts in case of an marine accident.
In additional they can be used in general life-saving operations as well as transport operations and movement of crew from a ship to ship or ship to shore.
